I'm an "established" bassist looking to start up a band. I'm 19 but I don't have a car or anything to get places so getting to where I Need to go is kind of a chore, but I am more than efficient in bassplaying, I'm influenced hugely by Atheist with a Converge kind of twist on it, I love metal and death metal and want to create some kind of grinding monster with jazzy overtones. If interested email me at pukingdeath@gmail.com or you can AOL IM me at 'puking death'

Cavour News [21 Oct 2004|04:45am]

Some of you may or may not have heard of a little metal band from Worcester, MA called Cavour.

Those of you who do, you know we rock.

If you don't... I'll explain a little about we do. I guess if you were to directly cross death metal(deathgrind) and emo you'd have Cavour. That's probably the best way to describe us.

Cavour 2.1, our latest 3 song demo is out. It's a taste of what to expect from our full length that we're almost done writing. We'll be hitting the studio soon after. Contact us for a copy.
email: spm3579@cs.com

We're always looking to book more shows anywhere with any bands. To book us email me. We promise that our performance is just about as crazy and dynamic as our music is.

this is pretty damn cool to find this community, as i am planning on moving to boston in the fall/winter. i am coming out in about a month or so to visit my sister who lives in brookline and am coming out with the sole intention of starting a hardcore/metalcore band. i have sang in a few bands in my town jamestown NY, but theres absolutely nothing going on here. i'm big into the boston hardcore scene as well as alot of metal but am open to any kind of styles mixed in. i'm looking to start something local but wouldn't mind touring. leave some comments if youre interested...

Comprehensive websites? [21 Mar 2004|04:32am]

Hey guys. Need some help here. Just moved to NH (Bedford/Manchester area) and I'm checking out all the music. Good stuff. And great group here. Is there any website that keeps a running, accurate, and often-updated listing of New England-area shows, local and non? Just curious.

I know about justanotherscene.com, bostonpopunderground.com, etc.. any other good big sites? Just because I'm finding out just by hook or crook there's these amazing shows coming to MA like the Fire Theft and Grandaddy, the Wrens, etc, and I don't want to miss anything now that I'm finally in a good area for stuff.

Thanks in advance, hope you all can PLEASE help out if you can, and looking forward to seeing everyone at the shows.

(xposted in hopes of massive help ;)

ATTENTION DRUMMERS!!! [31 Jan 2004|01:06am]

Attention all drummers between age 13-15...If you want to join an emo/punk band and you are a semi-experienced drummer, post a comment of contact me (see my userinfo)...

We are called Scimitar (if you don't like it, it's okay becuase it's not official). We already have two guitarists and a bassist so a drummer will complete the band. We have already written some songs but we need a drummer to add percussion.

We are a Bridgewater-based band, so please make sure you live reasonably close.

Thank you...

grind band looking for a guitarist. (influences - the number 12 looks like you, the locust, pg.99, the blood brothers, the sawtooth grin, the red chord, shit like that) we are from walpole, middleboro and somerset. we will be practicing somewhere in the middleboro area. we consist of 2 vocalists, 1 guitarist a bassist and a drummer. we are also looking for someone who might be down to play some keyboard. must have transportation unless you have a place we can jam at :)

either respond here or IM me at

ill make things better when im not as lazy, but for now this is what it looks like, word, anyway im lookign to start a grindcore style band i play guitar, ive been playing for about 7 years, id say my skill is a little higher than intermediate (i can play just about anything but i cant solo too well but soloing in grind matters alot), i have all my own equipment that is all good enough to gig with, besides cables they all suck i need to buy new ones, but thats no big deal, im 15 i can drive quite soon, and i live in north andover MA, so im looking for kids that live in like new hampshire/Ma, you know no more than a 35 - 40 minute drive. email me of you want
